MIDAS-COINS, the Cologne-based millimeterwave double-pass absorption spectrometer for complex interstellar species, is our new high-resoution, high-sensitivity spectrometer. It is optimized for measuring spectra of stable, neutral molecules of comparatively large size, the spectral lines of which typically have low intensities. With its long absorption path length of 44 meters, MIDAS-COINS addresses the need for higher detectivity in rotational spectroscopy of complex molecules.
