
A short overview
This project covers the development of quantum cascade laser based amplifiers and sources with specific operation characteristics that meet the requirements of TPs D2 and D3. Two different types of QCLs are aimed to be developed: first, AlGaAs/GaAs QCLs grown on GaAs emitting between 2 and 5 THz, second QCLs based on InGaAs/InP grown on InP that emit at 17 and 28 μm. Particular emphasis will be put into the development of electromagnetic structures allowing efficient coupling to external resonators developed by D2 and their integration into full operational systems.
