One of the SFB 956 goals is to establish a challenging and excellent environment for high-quality scientific and technical training and education. The appealing SFB 956 national and international scientific environment – allowing for an early exposure not only to innovative research approaches, but in particular to leading-edge laboratory and observatory installations – creates these prerequisites.
Therefore, the SFB 956 has implemented a Doctoral Program which offers a distinct supervision by a personal standing thesis committee and supports extended stays at scientifically highly interesting places such as foreign laboratories and institutes as well as at observatories like NANTEN, ALMA and SOFIA.
The SFB 956 doctoral candidates are welcome at various scientific talks, lectures and seminars within the SFB 956 colloquium, the student's seminar and the Bonn-Cologne Graduate School of Physics and Astronomy (BCGS). Furthermore, the doctoral candidates organize their own seminar and annual retreat.
All information, forms and requirements for the SFB 956 Doctoral Program can be found here.
